Helpful Tips

1.  Why does the drive get warm during use?

It is normal for storage products to heat up during use. When the product is connected and powered on to read and write data, its electronic components give off heat, and the amount of heat varies with how long it is powered on and how frequently it performs read/write operations. The chips inside the product can withstand temperatures of up to about 85°C, so there is no need to worry about heat generated during use.

2.  Why does my new drive come with pre-installed files?

Some models come with pre-installed software such as boot programs, management tools, data backup and drive encryption.

Please do not delete them, as this may affect normal use.

3.  Why can't I see the drive in “My Computer” after installing it?

Method 1: A brand-new drive usually needs to be formatted before use. We recommend downloading the DiskGenius partition tool and using the “New Partition” or “Quick Partition” option; apart from choosing the partition size, keep all other options at their defaults.

Method 2: Right-click “Computer” > “Manage” > “Disk Management”, find the unallocated, inactive disk, right-click it and select “Initialize”, then create a new simple volume and partition. Click “Next” through the default settings; when finished, the additional disk space will appear among your computer's drives.

4.  Why does the available capacity differ from the labeled capacity?

Drive manufacturers usually calculate capacity as 1MB = 1000KB and 1GB = 1000MB, whereas operating systems use binary calculation: 1MB = 1024KB and 1GB = 1024MB. As a result, there is some difference between the displayed capacity and the nominal capacity. The actual capacity of an SSD is approximately the labeled capacity multiplied by 0.92.

For example, a 512GB SSD will show an actual capacity of about 471GB on a computer (512 × 0.92 = 471GB), and so on.

5.  Who pays the shipping costs for returns, and can my data be recovered?

Within seven days of receipt, no-reason returns are supported for buyer-initiated reasons, provided the product remains in resalable condition; the buyer bears the shipping costs. For returns or exchanges due to product quality issues, once verified through inspection, the store bears the round-trip shipping costs within seven days of receipt. After seven days, only exchanges are supported, and each party bears its own shipping costs. Note: Please back up important data before sending a product for repair. The official after-sales warranty does not include data recovery.

(All products are genuine and shipped in original factory packaging. You may open the shipping package to inspect the product and sign for it once you confirm that the product and its retail box are undamaged. Opening the drive's original packaging will affect resale, and the 7-day no-reason return will no longer apply!)

6.  Are products covered by the “Three Guarantees” (repair, replacement and return) service?

Products sold in our store are covered by the store's Three Guarantees service. If a product cannot be used due to a quality issue, please contact our online customer service and send it back; we will inspect it and provide the corresponding return or exchange service.

7.  In what cases does the warranty not apply?

1.  The product specification label or anti-counterfeit label has been altered, defaced or removed, does not match the original, or is damaged, lost or illegible; the product's appearance is damaged so that its authenticity cannot be verified; or the product is determined to be counterfeit.

2.  Product damage caused by the user disassembling or repairing the product, or modifying or replacing parts without authorization.

3.  Product damage caused by abnormal mechanical or environmental conditions or power problems (such as insufficient voltage, excessive or unstable power supply, or prolonged charging of lithium batteries)

4.  Product damage caused by natural disasters, accidents, vandalism, improper use (such as not using the product according to its instructions, using it beyond its intended design purpose, or using it for plug-and-unplug testing), or improper installation (such as using it in equipment that is incompatible with or does not conform to HUADISK product design)
